About Kv No.1 AFS Kalaikunda
Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Kalaikunda was established in the year 1967 primarily to cater to the need of education for the children of defence persons. The Vidyalaya is situated at a distance of 16 kms from Kharagpurrailway station. At present 1700 students are studying from classes I to XII. The scheme of pre-primary education has been taken up from the session 2002-2003.The Vidyalaya has a total area of 13 acres(leased) with all the facilities of modern amenities.
In the year 2000, the Vidyalaya has been declared a ' Model School ' and accordingly the necessary infrastructure has been built up as per the guidelines of the KVS. We are striving hard to figure out as one of the best model KVs of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
